After the German experience I was ready for a different kind of action, if you know what I mean. I took a friends recommendation and went to the foreigner hang-out "Vinyl Underground". There had been A miscommunication, however, about the time of events to take place this night. I was early and wittnessed a club filled with male English teachers and their Korean girlfriends, a few Female Englishteachers with Englishteacher girlfriends and a small group of middle-aged Korean men. A guy with a keyboard was noisy and a girl did interesting yoga-exercizes on the dancefloor. The male Englishteachers commented rudely.
I decided to leave when one of the middle-aged Korean men addressed me with the very original "Excuse me. Am I correct you are English teacher?'" He was lucky I was in a good mood, I simply denied and left. Am I antisocial?

I attended a German culture celebration today. I was surprised to see so many Koreans apparently interested in German culture. Worrisome the fact that German culture seems to be synonymous with beer and sausage. Oh hell, at least there were people there that were tall and blond, what more can we ask for!
In the German spirit my picture of the day:

I watched Barton Fink last night and I actually had really strange dreams after that. I can't quite say I liked the movie. It was accomplished, but like a lot of the Coen Brothers' movies played too much with simple stereotypes. These guys are clever and they do what they do very well. But there is more to people's personalities and actions and movies, even stupid people. Anyway, I think in a way we can all learn something from this movie: A wrestling picture is about big men in tights. That's it.

It's been a while since I've written, I know. Buddha's birthday has come and gone meanwhile and all that remains are some paperflowers.....
We went to the tempel in the hills. The mountain road to the temple is about 3 km and it was filled with cars. The cars practically standing. Unfortunately with running engines. We had to jump out of the cab about half way up, because we were choking from the fumes the police car ahead was expelling into our faces. But once we had climbed above all the people and tha lanterns we all giot to eat free bibimbab and I started feeling quite spiritual in a way.
Good day after all.
