Part II of fascist propaganda class. Today I showed "Olympia" by Leni Riefenstahl after last weeks "Triumph des Willens". It's all part of the portraiture class, I think her films are great examples of portraiture, showing Hitler in a favorable light is by no means an easy thing to pull off.
The opening scene in Olympia is great, statues of Greek Beauties come alive and turn into perfect and nude Germanic bodies. These bodies in all their beauty carry the torch to Berlin--- It was at this moment that a delegation of about 20 important looking Officials from the MiddleEast and parts of Southeast-Asia dropped in to observe my lecture. They didn't stay long, for some reason. Too bad, I wanted to ask them about their favorite propaganda movie from their home country....
