There even is a website on the rap scene in this reagion:

On a more positive note: I went to an International Festival. For remember: The Germans, if not Nazis, are very tolerant people. So tolerant they celebrate Christopher Street Day every week in a different city (this weekend it's Frankfurt, I think). So tolerant they have a festival with food from almost every culture, mainly Turkish. Only the German foodstand was missing. And there was German Rap against the Right (politically speaking). Quite entertaining, indeed. I was especially pleased to see that the audience consited exclusively of 6 to 8 year olds and myself. I might yet write my thesis on the International hip hop phenomenon.

I also want to mention that my sleep is disturbed. I currently fall into a state that resembles sleep only in the fact that it takes place at night, usually. I currently fall into physical paralysis while my halfway awake brain takes horror trips to strange people, places and things from which I can't escape. Nor can I wake up completely. The situations I am confronted with range from frankenstein chases to torture to flesh eating spiders. The worst might be recurring dreams of US presidents. Mainly Bill Clinton, sometimes Bob Dole. Rarely G.W. Bush, thank goodness. Not yet, at least.

Great unhappiness comes in waves....the kind of choking chest clenching unhappiness you feel when you realize after all these years that you are not a young adventurous lad in full bloom exploring the world while making it a better place. But that you are a not so young unemployed homeless loser unable to keep a regulare job and incapable of staying in one place and with the same people for more than a few months while increasingly alienating the human race. Good thing it comes in waves.

It's at the Akademie der Knste, I forgot to mention.

About the exhibit: I like the sculptures, but I liked the drawings almost better.... Why do I feel compelled suddenly to listen to YMCA by The Village People?

And if you are in Berlin, check out the Louise Bourgeois exhibit. It's very fun.

My time in Berlin is almost over....for now. I'm quite dissapointed I didn't run into Schroeder. But I saw the guy who imitates the automated messages on the subway. Has anyone seen the realy skinny lady recently? Hope she's still around.

I'm in Berlin now. Saw Le Grand Macabre the Ligeti opera. It was extremely fun, I must say. They basically were engaging in perverted or at any rate frequent fornication. Throughout the evening. There were a gravedigger, a shitman-devil (Necrotsar) or so and a really fat entity on a birthday cake construction site house. I won't say no more.

Dice are entering my life at an increasing rate. Yesterday I found that a wellrespected (by me) person owns a copy of The Dice Man. I wonder what the significance is.
